Rob Sanchez, founder of Blogger ProsHello, and welcome to Blogger Pros!

My name is Rob Sanchez. I’m the founder of Blogger Pros, and it’s my great pleasure to welcome you to this ongoing collection of blogging tips to help you make money.

About fourteen years ago, I published my very first content on the internet. Today, I still publish content online and I earn a living by doing it. I recently founded Blogger Pros to help you learn to do the same.

If I may, let me share with you why I built this site for people just like you and what I hope you’ll get out of it.

My Story

When I was a sophomore in high school, my school first offered internet access to students. I signed up for a class simply called “Internet,” taught by a math teacher whose sole qualification was that he had a dabbling interest in computers. We all learned together. The following year, I had the privilege of building my school’s first website and co-developing the first website for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

Since then, I’ve run about 40 different websites. Some of them are ones I still operate today, while others I sold for a profit. Some have been great successes and others have been epic failures, but they have all been invaluable in terms of the experience they have provided. Today, I continue publishing online because the money is good and I enjoy the work.

Why You Can Do It, Too

While the face of the internet has changed dramatically since those first days when I started publishing content, the original idea is still exactly the same. People take the various information that they know — their thoughts, opinions, ideas and knowledge — and publish it on a website. Other people visit that website and read the information. The concept itself hasn’t changed a bit.

What has changed is that the internet has become an extremely attractive venue for advertisers. This simple fact makes it possible for people like you and me to earn a living from blogging. You don’t necessarily have to change your blog’s topic, and you don’t have to sell out. With some carefully implemented modifications, you can turn your blog into a revenue stream that will actually make money.

In addition, publishing a website nowadays no longer involves much of the geekery or the money that was required back when I started out. Today, just about anyone with basic computer skills can take what they know and put it out for the rest of the world to read with little or no expense.

My Goal for You

Contrary to what “buy-my-program” hucksters might tell you, professional blogging is not an easy ticket to free riches. But blogging can be approached as a legitimate, viable career. The key is learning the right steps to take. My goal with Blogger Pros is to help you learn those steps.

Throughout the site, you’ll notice that the silhouette of a bird turns up frequently. This is intentional, and it’s meant to be symbolic. I hope to see you spread your proverbial wings as a blogger. As the site’s tagline says, I want you to be able to “let your blog take flight.”

The simple fact that you’re here tells me that you’re already on the path to learning how this game is played, and I pledge to bring you information along your journey that will help you continually take your blog to the next level.

Why Another Blogging Tips Website?

I’ll be the first to acknowledge that there are already some excellent sites out there doing exactly the same thing I’m attempting to do here, and I intend to point you toward those sites and the best of what they have to offer.

The reason I’ve decided to add yet another site into the mix is this: Right now, in 2010, if you search for tips for making money with your blog, you’ll find about seven years’ worth of information. A portion of that information is still excellent, but much of it is very outdated. This site is intended to be a guide to the latest and most relevant information for blog publishers in this new decade.

Final Thoughts

More than anything, my sincere hope is that you’ll find Blogger Pros to be a welcoming community and that it will grow to be an indispensable resource for you. I’m excited about this site and the potential journey it represents.

I hope that you’ll be part of our story and that we’ll be part of yours!

Looking forward to helping your blog take flight,

Rob Sanchez, founder
Blogger Pros

P.S. – Someone asked me, “Why Blogger PROS?” I think what they meant was, “Why is it plural?” The answer to that is simple. While I’m the sole founder of this website, I never intended to distinguish myself as THE “blogger pro.” It’s true that my experience, with all its successes and failures, has helped me to become something of an expert on the topic. But the main goal of the site is to help YOU become a pro with your own blog. In short, I’m not the blogger pro. My readers are!
